Who is Vanessa?

Too often, birth is directed instead of experienced. My role is not to lead your birth, but to walk alongside you. I offer steady presence, evidence-based education, and respectful support so you can move through birth feeling confident no matter how your story unfolds. I don’t believe there’s one “right” way to give birth—but I am trained to advocate for your needs, every step of the way.

It would be an honor to support you in this season.

  • If you want guidance that honors your body, your choices, and your natural rhythm, you’re in the right place.

I believe informed choice is essential—knowledge is meant to support confidence, not fear. While I support low-intervention and unmedicated intentions, I honor that birth can change. You will never be judged for the decisions you make and flexibility is a huge strength.

Birth is both a physical and emotional experience. My care supports the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—through steady, compassionate presence.

Evidence shows that continuous labor support is associated with higher rates of spontaneous vaginal birth and lower rates of cesarean, pain medication use, and negative birth experiences. (Bohren, M.A., Hofmeyr, G., Sakala, C., et al. (2017). “Continuous support for women during childbirth.” Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews 2017, Issue 7. Art. No.: CD003766.)

Because presence matters, I am committed to attentive, continuous support that promotes both positive outcomes and emotional well-being.

  • I am currently completing my certification through the International Doula Institute and am committed to ongoing growth as a professional member of Evidence Based Birth®. My continuing education focuses on current research, clinical guidelines, and the physiology of birth, allowing me to critically evaluate evidence and translate it into practical, individualized support. Rather than offering scripted guidance, I provide information that is responsive to your body, your circumstances, and your informed choices.

  • I’m Vanessa and my path to this work has been shaped by birth, community, faith, and a deep calling to be present during life’s most vulnerable transitions.

I entered pregnancy hoping for an epidural-free, low-intervention birth—one that allowed me to work with my body’s wisdom. Because of my baby’s estimated size, there was uncertainty within the hospital staff about whether a spontaneous vaginal birth would be possible, without any physical or emotional trauma. With the steady support of a trusted midwife, natural birth coach, and a supportive birth environment (even in a hospital), I went on to give birth without an epidural to our 9 lb 11 oz baby feeling grounded, informed, and with zero birth trauma.

That experience transformed me. It showed me how powerful it can be when mothers are trusted and given space to birth without unnecessary pressure. From that moment on, I knew this work was part of my calling.

From birth to becoming a family.
